H.O.P.E. (Help Our Planet Earth) Uniforms Program is a community-focused non-profit that has been addressing the critical intersection of educational, social, and environmental causes since 2019.  By partnering with schools in the community, H.O.P.E. collects gently used  students’ school uniforms and redistributes them back to families who need them.  Then, when they outgrow those uniforms, they could donate the uniforms back and simply request the next size up from H.O.P.E., thereby creating an eco-friendly cycle.  H.O.P.E. has an online website in three languages (English, Spanish and Chinese) to support multilingual families to place free uniform orders online.

To date, H.O.P.E. has been implemented at five public schools in the San Mateo-Foster City School District: Bayside Academy, College Park Elementary, Turnbull Preschool, Fiesta Gardens, and LEAD Elementary (uniforms optional ). We have started to expand into Redwood City with Hoover Community School. Since its inception, H.O.P.E. has received over 5,500 donated clothing articles, which in turn has provided over 4,000 articles of school uniform clothing to over 650 families in the community free of charge.   HOPE is honored to be recognized and receive awards from Crystal Geyser, Sustainability San Mateo County, U.S. Congresswoman Anna Eshoo and Mr. Diego Ochoa, the Superintendent of the SMFCSD.
