H.O.P.E. (Help Our Planet Earth) Uniforms Program is a community-focused nonprofit that has been addressing the intersection of educational, social, and environmental needs since 2019. By partnering with schools in the community, H.O.P.E. collects gently used school uniforms and redistributes them to families in need. When students outgrow their uniforms, families can donate them back and simply request the next size up—creating a sustainable, eco-friendly cycle. To further support accessibility, H.O.P.E. offers a trilingual website (English, Spanish, and Chinese) where families can place free uniform orders online.

To date, H.O.P.E. has been implemented at nine public schools in the San Mateo–Foster City School District—Bayside Academy Elementary, Bayside Academy Middle, College Park Elementary, Turnbull Preschool, Fiesta Gardens Elementary, and Lead Elementary (uniforms optional)—and in the Redwood City School District—Hoover Community School, Garfield Community School, and Taft Community School. Since its inception, H.O.P.E. has received over 13,000 donated uniform items, redistributed more than 11,000 pieces, and served over 1,300 families at no cost.

 

H.O.P.E. is honored to have received recognition and awards from Crystal Geyser, Sustainability San Mateo County, Action For Nature International Young Eco-Hero, Samaritan House (Dr. Cora Clemons Emerging Young Samaritan Award), U.S. Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, and Mr. Diego Ochoa, Superintendent of SMFCSD.

 

The H.O.P.E. Uniforms Program is able to provide this service at no cost because of the generosity of families who care about their community and the environment. Please consider donating any unneeded or outgrown uniforms so H.O.P.E. can repurpose them and give them new life with families who need them.

 

Uniforms can be dropped off at the front office during school hours in the designated donation bin: College Park, Bayside Academy, Fiesta Gardens, Garfield, Hoover, and Taft Community Schools.
