The San Mateo-Foster City Education Foundation funds core programming in Literacy, Arts, Sports, Music, Technology and Wellness.
We work throughout the year to develop relationships with community & business partners in San Mateo and Foster City to enhance the educational experiences of students in our district.
Your financial contributions allow the Foundation to bring equity to our schools & help our diverse community of students achieve their full potential by providing them with the well rounded education they deserve.
Recent partnerships have funded new instruments and books to support the 5th grade instrumental and vocal music program; the establishment of the Art in Action program at one of the District’s most impoverished schools; and the replacement of middle school after-school sports uniforms.
Hands free temperature scanners in place at our school sites and district office are helping to keep us all well as we return to schools in person.
Superintendent Dr. Joan Rosas is shown here with one installed at the District Office.
We've provided age-appropriate science books, English Language Arts & English Language Development curriculum support, and library books.
Granting sources and donations of all amounts from many individuals helped us provide chromebooks and hotspots to students during distance learning.
Using Measure K funding, we also granted Chromebooks and carts to each of our schools, supporting the Next Generation Science Standard (NGSS) implementation.
We are proud to have furnished glassware for Middle School science labs and provided funding for and helped set up a "Makerspace" at one of our elementary schools.
We are also excited to have a Science Teacher on Special Assignment (ToSA) working in our district, coordinating and leading teacher professional learning.
